Set in a West London comprehensive we follow a group of confused and disillusioned fifteen-year-olds who may or may not get the opportunity to experience full blown adulthood. Bag up as large a selection of the sensationalist journalism about the state of our nation from the stand point of our disaffected youth; teenage pregnancy, suicide, organised crime, murder and you have a good taster of the trip "Kidulthood" is going to take you on. While the story overflows with harsh, gritty urban realism, there's a distinct paucity of well-fleshed out characters, a choice by the filmmakers that ironically deprives the movie of much of its authenticity and brings it close to a sensationalism that it had presumably hoped to avoid.
